Linda Carter Sparrow

February 24, 1947 — December 9, 2019

Linda Carter Sparrow, 72, of Valdosta died Monday, December 9, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Tifton on February 24, 1947 to the late Aneal and Lucille McCarthy Carter. Mrs. Carter was a Methodist and a proud member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Taylor and nothing was more important to her than family. She loved her family unconditionally and unselfishly.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Holland Sparrow of Valdosta; her son and daughter in law, Kevin and Erica Sparrow of Canton, GA; her daughter and son in law, Melody and Joshua Beckstrom of Warwick, GA; three granddaughters, Taylor Sparrow of Lakeland, Kailyn Sparrow of Canton, GA, Madison Shaffer of Hahira, GA; her brother, Dennis Carter of Hoover, AL; two sisters and brothers in law, Suzanne and Francis Wisham of Tifton, Lisa and Tom Moersen of Sumpter, SC. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lynn Sparrow and a sister in law, Kelly Carter.
A celebration of life will be held at 2pm, Friday, December 13, 2019 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating.
