Larry David Devane

Larry David DeVane, 66, of Valdosta, died on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence following a short illness. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on January 14, 1951 to the late Joseph and Goldie Bruton Devane. Mr. DeVane retired from Colonial Bag Company and was a member of the Harvest Church of God. Larry loved being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature. In times past, he loved scuba diving and canoeing with family and friends and was happiest when outside in God's creation.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Lavern DeVane of Valdosta; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry John DeVane of Valdosta, Timothy Howard and Crystal Devane of Lake Park, and Shannon Dave Devane and his fiancé, Kendra Dasher of Valdosta; grandchildren, Levi DeVane, Logan DeVane, Nicholas DeVane, Elizabeth Brantley, Kelsey DeVane, Elijah Riddle, Sara Jane Coombs, and Grayson DeVane; a great-grandchild, Kylee Grace DeVane; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Jean DeVane of Valdosta; his dear friend, Bill Carter of Valdosta; special nieces, Judy DeVane Atkinson and Jenny DeVane Miller; and a cousin, Donnie DeVane. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris DeVane and Dorothy DeVane.
Services for Larry David DeVane will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Bro. Jack Justice and Bro. William C. Justice officiating. The burial will follow in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
