“… And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind…” Acts 2:2. Keith Errington Allsbrook, 64, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning, April 25, 2020, from a malignant astrocytoma brain tumor. He was born in Tucson, AZ to Jack Errington Allsbrook and the late Patricia Lucile Peterson Allsbrook. Keith grew up in Washington State but after travelling throughout the United States in the early 70’s found his home here in South Georgia. He began a lifelong career in the construction industry apprenticing with some of Valdosta’s finest builders. Keith met the former Judy Pickles in 1980 and they were married in December of the same year by The Honorable T. N. Holcombe, Jr., at the Lowndes County Courthouse on a snowy Saturday morning. Together they began a framing business. Keith later obtained his general contractor license specializing in residential and light commercial construction and they continued to work together until Keith’s health issues prevented him to continue. Keith was a very talented, wonderful craftsman who excelled in the work he loved building many beautiful homes in South Georgia and North Florida.

Keith’s love for his Savior Jesus Christ, his passion for learning and teaching the Word of God, and ministering to the needs of others led him into ministry in 1984 at New Covenant South in Lake Park, which later became New Life Community Church of Lake Park where he served as pastor for the past 28 years still sharing the love of God until the very end of his life. He kept a daily prayer list of everyone he knew who needed prayer and was faithful to pray every day. One of his greatest blessings was time spent in Brazil ministering with his friend, mentor and spiritual father, Dan Duke. He loved kids and young people and had a special gift for imparting the love of God in their lives. Over the years he touched many lives and baptized hundreds both young and old. Keith’s unwavering faith and trust in God, unconditional love and dedication to his wife, family and friends was a special gift which he shared joyfully and abundantly throughout his years of ministry.

Keith always enjoyed being around his friends, always had a smile on his face and time to ask “how’s it going”. He could sit and talk for hours and always had a good story to tell. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit. He was a loyal Georgia Bull Dog fan, never turned down a trip on his Harley Davidson and could direct you to the best BBQ places all across the country. He was always ready to fire up his grill to cook some of the best chicken, pork, sausage and ribs around and his secret BBQ sauce recipe was always in demand. He had a knack for giving out nicknames many of which were earned by employees on the job sites. He had an extensive music library in his head which included almost every genre and could name titles, artists, writers, dates of all and loved listening to his music.

Keith is survived by his wife, Judy Allsbrook. They were blessed by God with 40 wonderful years together as husband and wife sharing their mutual love, respect and admiration for each other with a love and friendship that was a special gift from God; father Jack Allsbrook of Moses Lake, WA; his brothers Scott (Denece) of Moses Lake, WA; Mark (Linda) of Melbourne, FL; his sister, Lori Huffman (Smitty) of Keystone Heights, FL; his sisters-in-law Linda Pickles Lester (Jim) of Valdosta, GA; Brenda Pickles (Jimmy Helms) of Lake Park, GA; grandnieces Layla Heikel and Cora Heikel, both of Lake Park; numerous nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Allsbrook; his parents-in-law, James O. Pickles and Viola Pickles; and his beloved nephew Scott Austin Heikel.

A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dan Duke and Jeff Martin will officiate.
