Julian Thomas Weeks, Sr.

Julian Thomas Weeks, Sr., 83, of Lake Park, Georgia, died at South Georgia Medical Center on Monday, October 22, 2007. Born in Doerun, Georgia on September 13, 1924, he was the son of the late David Barton and Eula Essie Turner Weeks. He had served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II with the U.S. Navy. Mr. Weeks was retired from Georgia Power where he had worked as a Division Operator. He was a Mason, a Charter Master of Fellowship Daylight Lodge # 746 and a Scottish Rite Shriner. Mr. Weeks was a member of Grace Community Chapel.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dr. Doug Hilliard of Jasper, Florida; sons and daughter-in-law, Julian Weeks, Jr., of Pearson, Georgia, Tim and Kelly Weeks of Lake Park, Georgia; grandchildren, Jason Hilliard of Live Oak, Florida, Aimee France of Woodstock, Georgia, Jolene Strumlauf of St. Augustine, Florida, Amanda Baughman of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Timothy Weeks, Jr. of Valdosta, Georgia; great grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua and Katherine Baughman of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Matthew and Micah Hilliard of Live Oak, Florida, Gracie France of Woodstock, Georgia, Addison Strumlauf of St. Augustine, Florida; sisters and brother-in-law, Alice and Marvin Magruder of Moultrie, Georgia, Nona Mae Sloan also of Moultrie, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Mullis Weeks.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dr. V. Vernon Eckleberry, Dr. Doug Hilliard, and Julian Thomas Weeks, Jr. will officiate. Masonic Rites and burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mr. Weeks may be made to the Masonic Home of Georgia 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211.
