Julaine Valentine Stockdill

Julaine Valentine Stockdill, 70, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness.

She was born December 21, 1943, in Valdosta, a daughter of the late Julian and Jewell Davis Valentine. Julaine grew up in the Howell area of Echols County and graduated from Echols County High School. She met her husband while he was stationed at Moody Air Force Base, and was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She loved the Lord, loved fishing and enjoyed cooking large meals for everyone and doing crafts.

She is survived by her son, Robert E. Stockdill, Jr. of Valdosta; numerous cousins, including Carolyn and Russell McLeod, Rusty McLeod and Matt McLeod, all of Lake Park, Pat and Sandra Davis of Hahira, Dawn Davis Ross and Gene Ross of Lake Park, Sally Davis of Hahira, Two and Dotti Davis of Barney, Kenny and Dee Ott of Hahira, Bobby and LaDonna Stalvey of Hahira, Tom and Karen Stalvey of Hahira, and Lynwood and Janet Davis of Hahira; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Russell of Grady, AR, and Joan and husband James Chidester of Jacksonville, AR; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Diana Chidester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Stockdill on May 22, 2014.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Stockdill will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Elder Lynwood Davis officiating. Interment will be private at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
