Judith A. (Judy) O'Brien

Judith A. O'Brien, 69, of Valdosta passed away suddenly on Monday, August 16, 2010 in Naples, Florida. Born in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Nicholas and Maria Rainey, Judy had lived in Valdosta since 1987, working at the Odum Library at Valdosta State University up until the time of her death. Judy was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Survivors include her brother and sister in law, Dr. Malcolm and Bonnie Rainey of Valdosta, a sister, Virginia Raso of Anaheim Hills, CA., six nieces and nephews, Michael Rainey and wife, Meghan of Atlanta, GA., Sarita Rainey of Los Angeles, CA., Judy Nakamura and husband, Scott of Corona, CA., Gynny Raso of Wyckoff, NJ., Marc Raso and wife, Silvana of Oradell, NJ., and Joseph Raso, Jr. of New York, NY and six great nephews and great nieces, Matthew and Marissa Rainey of Atlanta, Marc and Meghan Brannan of Corona, CA., and Mia and Ava Raso of Oradell, NJ. Judy was pre-deceased by her husband, Dr. Richard F. O'Brien.

A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Noon with Father Dan O'Connell officiating.
