Joyce Winnona McQuien Lightsey, 84, of Valdosta, and formerly of Fort Meade, Florida, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Fort Meade, Florida on May 19, 1935 to the late Charles and Alma Senterfitt-McQuien. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Meade, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lightsey-Brady, and son-in-law Michael Brady of Valdosta; grandchildren, Heather and Matthew Kraudy of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Emily Brady and Mikey Brady both of Valdosta; her sisters, Mary McKinney of Bartow, Florida, Katheryn Reeves of Ft. Meade, Florida, Florence Ann Pollard and her husband, Vince Pollard of Eagle Lake, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lightsey was preceded in death by her loving husband John William “Jack” Lightsey, a sister Marjorie Jensen, and two brothers, Ronald McQuien and Drew McQuien.
Services for Joyce Lightsey will take place in Fort Meade, Florida and will be entrusted to Hancock Funeral Home of Fort Meade, Florida. There are no local services scheduled.
