Josephine Hunt Mcconnell

Josephine Hunt McConnell, 77, of Valdosta, died on Monday, July 18, 2011, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Yorkshire, England she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hunt and Kate Oglesbury. Mrs. McConnell was a hair stylist and retired salon owner.

Survivors are her daughter, Amanda Clair McConnell, son, Kent Todd and granddaughter, Aimee Claire Blanton all of Valdosta; sisters, Valerie Conway and Pauline Glenville of Hull, England, Maureen Marheine of Houghton Lake, Michigan, and Christine Watson of Birmingham, England. Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Patterson McConnell and a brother, John Hunt.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 5 p.m. on Friday prior to the service. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com.
