Joseph Clayton (Joe) Davis

Joseph Clayton (Joe) Davis, 62, of Valdosta, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born on February 20, 1955 in Alma, GA. Joe was a devoted husband and father. He was a retired meat market manager having worked at Winn Dixie, Publix and Mr. B's. Joe was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church. He was an avid bass fisherman, enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He attended Lowndes County Schools.
Joe is survived by his wife, Connie Davis of Valdosta, his son, Clay Davis and girlfriend, Heather Hightower of Valdosta, parents, Jake and Melba Davis of Valdosta, brother, Jerry Davis of Jacksonville, FL, sisters and brother in law, Becky and Frank Briggs and Jackie Archer of Hahira, brother and sister in law, Bruce and Renee Davis of Jacksonville, FL, his mother in law, Sara Young Lucas of Valdosta, sisters in law and brothers in law, Phyllis and Marv Hendrix of Gainesville, FL, Pam and John Barrs of Lee, FL, Nancy and John Baisley of Flowery Branch, GA, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Darlene Davis and his father in law, Phillip Lucas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Way Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
