John Harold Miley

John H. Miley, 59, of Hahira, died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on November 5, 1946 in Lowndes County. Mr. Miley was a retired Air Traffic Controller with the United States Navy and was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Marleen Miley of Hahira, three sons and one daughter in law, James H. Miley of Washington, John Joseph and Tammie Miley of Hawaii and Aaron Allen Miley of Valdosta, five grandchildren, Robert, Kayla, Shianne, Christopher and Cameron, his mother, Margaret Miley of Hahira, one brother and sister in law, Virgil Raymond Jr. (Sonny) and Linda Miley of Hahira, four sisters and brothers in law, Ruth Ann and Bobby Edmondson, Mary Ellen and John Chitwood, Nancy and Freddy Stalvey, Pam and Ken Akins, all of Hahira, mother in law, Patricia L. Current of Valdosta, father in law and his wife, Billy L. and Pat Rogers of Pensacola, FL, sisters in law and brothers in law, Dinah and Theron Gray of Decatur, IL, Leta Fondren of Oregon, Denver L. Whitehead of Memphis, TN, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Miley is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Raymond Miley, Sr. and one sister, Willene Whitehead.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006 at three p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Jim Schappaugh, Reverend Benny Olliff and Mr. Aaron Miley officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
