John Cranford Mcmullen

John Cranford McMullen, Sr., 83, of Valdosta died on Monday, December 19, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center following years of declining health. He was born on August 30, 1928 to the late Joseph, Sr. and Fannie Mae Wisenbaker McMullen and has been a resident of Valdosta all his life. He was a farmer and a self-employed residential painter and renovator. He was a member of Dasher Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. He loved to fish and was a loving family man to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Jo and Marvin L. Stewart of Havana, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, John, Jr. and Betty Ann McMullen of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Geannie McMullen of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Betty M. and Jim Watts of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tony Chance of Adel; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Evans and Lenora McMullen and Ellis and Patricia McMullen all of Valdosta and J.C. and Judy McMullen of Lake Park; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Madelyn McMullen and a brother, Joe K. McMullen, Jr.

Services for John Cranford McMullen will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. David Nelson officiating. The burial will take place in the Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
