Jo Ann Sumner

Jo Ann Sumner, 68, of Valdosta died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on November 2, 1946 in Adel to the late Lollie Lundy Centerfitt and Robbie Nell Stephens Centerfitt. Mrs. Sumner had worked at Strickland Cotton Mill in Remerton and Ithaca in Quitman.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Amanda and Brent Evans of Valdosta and Lori and Glen Umberger of Lake Park, six grandchildren, Gracie Evans, John Griffin, Aden Evans, Brantley Evans, Julia Fender (P. J.) and Matthew Walker (Megan), two great grandchildren, her brother and sister in law, James and Maybell Centerfitt of Americus and her sister, Dorothy Hightower of Lake Park. Mrs. Sumner is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Adair Sumner and two sisters, Linda Thornton and Lillan West.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at two p. m. at Cat Creek Cemetery with Mr. Travis Benefield officiating. Burial will follow.
