Jimmie Ray Norton

Jimmie Ray Norton, 73, of Kingsland, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was born on July 26, 1946 to the late Hubert and Edna Bird Norton in Lake Wales, FL. Jimmie was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He retired after 35 years as a lab manager for the University of Florida. He enjoyed woodworking, shooting, plants, gardening, and he loved to grow Hibiscus. Jimmie was a very thoughtful gift giver.
Jimmie is survived by a brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Margaret Norton, of Kingsland, GA, and a sister, Barbara Norton Ridley, of Adel, GA; eight nieces and nephews, Paul Norton, James Whithurst, Selina Rodnicki, Richard Norton, Kevin Norton, Jason Norton, Krystalyn Norton, and Matthew Ridley; and other family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Jimmie will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. William Peel officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
