Jill Irene Schappaugh

Jil Schappaugh, 63, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on August 16, 1945 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harvey Cecil and Doris Clarice Martin Lydic. Mrs. Schappaugh was a nurse and a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Schappaugh of Valdosta, two daughters and sons in law, Tammy and Mike Hamm of Dasher and Kim and Mike Knight of Valdosta, six grandchildren, Vince Hamm and his wife, Analiese, Danielle Lyn Hamm, Cody Hamm and his wife, Lindsey, Joielle McDowell and her husband, Sean, Laine Knight and Rhett Dean Hamm, one great granddaughter, Milly Marie McDowell, one sister, Judy Swaim of Show Low, Arizona, one sister in law, Jeannie Lydic of Placentia, California, many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schappaugh is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Sam Lydic.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Benny Olliff, Reverend David Gordon and Dr. A. H. “Skip” Van Nus officiating. Burial will follow in Dasher Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
