Jessie Dasher Shaw

Jessie Dasher Shaw, 86, lifelong resident of Valdosta died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at her residence. She was born on May 27, 1921 and was the daughter of the late J. Calvin and Betty Timmerman Dasher. She was associated with Levi Strauss for a number of years and loved to fish and ride horses. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ. She loved her church and was very active there.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Lawanna & Bob Batten; several great nieces and nephews including Daniel Batten; a twin sister, Jewell Dasher Courson; and another sister, Loette Dasher Perry. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her husband Levy L. Shaw; three sisters, Claudia Dasher Folsom, Eula Lee Dasher Simpson, and Grace Waller; three brothers, L.C. Dasher, JC Dasher and Olen Dasher.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Forrest Chapman and Mr. Bob Rowell officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Hill Cemetery in Brooks County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
