James E. Morgan, Sr.

July 2, 1923 — May 25, 2008

James E. Morgan, Sr., 84, of Valdosta, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House after a short illness. He was born in Danbury, CT on July 2, 1923 a son of the late James I. and Georgia Morgan. Mr. Morgan and his wife Linda Alberta moved to Valdosta twenty years ago.

Mr. Morgan was a self-employed builder in Connecticut and South Georgia, later working for Eagle Security in Valdosta. He was of the Catholic faith, Past President and life member of the Eagles Club in Connecticut and had worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. in his youth.

Survivors include his wife, Linda A. Morgan of Valdosta, three daughters, Candy Hurley and husband Clyde of CT, Linda Scott of Adel, and Coleen Couturier of Valdosta, three sons and daughter-in-laws, Craig Couturier and Diane of Bainbridge, Jack Couturier and Phyllis of TX, and James Morgan, Jr. and Kimberly of Lake Park, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son-in-law Roy Scott, and by his brothers and sisters.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 1pm, Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Grassy Pond, Valdosta. In lieu of flowers please consider the needs of his family.
