James Donald Yale

James Donald Yale, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at The Canopy in Valdosta, GA. He was born in Valdosta on January 23, 1932 to the late Arthur Talley Yale and Mae Elizabeth Simpson Yale. He had worked for Valdosta Drug Company and was in pharmaceutical sales. Mr. Yale was a hardworking, funny, witty, and business savvy person. He was a loving family man, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. Mr. Yale was a very loyal man to all. He loved Valdosta football, most all teams, and was an avid Braves, Bulldogs, and Falcons fan. He was an enthusiastic admirer of convertibles and sports cars.

Mr. Yale is survived by his children, Donny (Stacey) Yale, of Wilmington, NC, Jeff (Maidie) Yale, of Fort Worth, TX, Chris (Debbie) Yale, of Charlotte, NC, and Cathy (Todd) Sigman, of Alpharetta, GA; his grandchildren, Emma (Ben) Peirce, Pierson (Maison) Yale, all of Thomasville, GA, Logan Yale, Katie Yale, both of Wilmington, NC, Preston Yale, Spencer (Cambley) Yale, both of Fort Worth, TX, Lawson Yale, of Smyrna, GA, Ross Yale, of St. Petersburg, FL, Jake Yale, of Jacksonville, FL, Catherine Grace Sigman, Aubrey Sigman, and Julia Sigman, all of Alpharetta, GA; great grandchildren, Abe Peirce and Jax Peirce, of Thomasville, GA; brother Norman (Rhonda Jane) Yale, of Kennesaw, GA; a sister Betty Yale, of Valdosta; stepson, Andy (Debbie) Crosby, of Valdosta; and stepdaughter, Tress (Fred) Reddish, of Valdosta. Mr. Yale was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Catherine Yale, and his second wife Eugenia Yale, four brothers, Arthur Yale, Robert Yale, Charles Yale, Richard Yale, and a sister Louise Sainz.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Tenery officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
