James Clifford Rooney, Sr.

James Clifford Rooney, Sr., passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at his home in Nashville, GA. He was born on October 26, 1953 in Panama City, FL to the late Richard Leo Rooney and Ruth Naomi Jordon Rooney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and the owner/operator of Discount Vacuum. He had an antique car collection, and he rescued box turtles. He owned 2 Sulcata Tortoises, which is the 3rd largest species in the world. He enjoyed going to flea markets and spending time with his family, including his partner of 26 years, Marsha Lindsey.
Mr. Rooney is survived by his partner, Marsha Lindsey, of Nashville, GA; son, Cliff Rooney (fiancée Melisa Edmonds), of Valdosta; daughter, Michelle Rooney Putnal (Terry), of Madison, FL; grandchildren, Alessa-Brooke Rooney, of Valdosta, Jerrod (Samantha) Reader, of Madison, FL; great grandchild, Colton James Reader, of Madison, FL; siblings and their spouses, Victoria (Toby) Morris, of Key West, FL, Richard Rooney, of Gainesville, FL, Shellie (Andy) Carroll, of Live Oak, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Terri Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Brother Steve McHargue officiating.
