Jackie C. Griffin

Jackie C. Griffin, 78, died Friday, July 30, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Valdosta and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by: her daughter, Lynn W. Ethridge of Valdosta; two sons Ben H. Wisenbaker III (fiancé Karen Taylor), and Jack (Jeannie) Wisenbaker all of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Gary (Kristy) Ethridge Jr., Kerilyn (Matthew) Wilkin, Jake Wisenbaker, Jess Wisenbaker, Joey Wisenbaker, and Chris Wisenbaker all of Valdosta; two great grandchildren, Lane Ethridge and Ethan Ethridge both of Valdosta; her brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Catherine Cowart of Valdosta; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Horace Griffin and her brother, Elwood Cowart.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Christ Episcopal Church. The Reverend Peter Ingeman and the Reverend Tar Drazdowski will officiate. Burial will follow in McLane's Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
