Jack Harnage, Sr.

Jack Harnage, Sr. 71, of Valdosta died on Friday, February 06, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born in Lowndes County in August of 1937 to the late Lee and Lessie Fillyaw Harnage. He was employed with South Georgia Medical Center and worked in the food services area and was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Harnage of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Walter Biernacki of Valdosta and Janet and Louie Culpepper of Lake Park; one son, Buddy Harnage of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouses, Crystal and James Darling of Lake Park, Wes and Rozie Simpson of Valdosta, Jordan Culpepper of Lake Park, and Lee Harnage of Sylvester; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily McDonald of Jacksonville, Florida, Carolyn and Robert McGee of Hahira, and Myrtis and Loyd Butts of Chattanooga, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and other special relatives.

Services for Jack Harnage, Sr. will be held at 11 a.m.on Monday, February 9, 2009 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Hughes and Pastor Sammy Reaves officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
