Inez Clanton Sellars

Inez Clanton Sellars, 79, of Valdosta died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira on February 7, 1931 to the late Matthew and Pauline Harris Clanton and was a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. Mrs. Sellars was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education Nutrition Department. She enjoyed her spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, L.T. Sellars of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Terry and Sharon Sellars of Ludowici, daughter and son in law, Lori and Bill Spells of Lake Park, seven grandchildren, Leah (Paul) Massey, Jared (Heather) Sellars, Matthew(Brittany) Sellars, Dustin Wisor, Angie (Donald) Hendley, Billie Jo (Oscar) Fernandez, William (Jessica) Spells, 11-great grandchildren, Abby Sellars, Maddie Sellars, Aimee Massey, Aidan Massey, Sophie Sellars, Shauna Maestas, Lauren Hendley, Will Spells, Gab Trey, Dylan Massey and Derek Massey, her sister, Doris Giddens of Hahira, brother and sister in law, Jack and Sheila Clanton of Tallahassee, Fla., numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Hannah Sellars and Parker Hendley, three brothers, Gene Clanton, Vonnie Clanton and Paul Clanton and two sisters, Lorene Coppage and Ila Garner.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Friday, May 21, 2010 in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Mrs. Sellars son, the Rev. Terry Sellars and Rev. Earl Kicklighter officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
