Ida B. (Sissy) Russ

Ida B. “Sissy” Russ, 61 of Lake Park, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born on September 18, 1944 in Valdosta, she was the daughter of the late Yeager Spear and Ida Marie Williams Brown. Sissy worked for many years at the Holiday Inn in Jennings. She was a member of the Red Hat Club in Lake Park and the Loch Laurel Baptist Church. When asked how she felt, she would always say “I’m fine.”

Survivors include her longtime companion and best friend, Emory DeLoach of Lake Park; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothea and Mark Kinsey, DeAnne and Pete Sandlin all of Lake Park; stepchildren, Jason DeLoach of Valdosta, Joshua and Tosh DeLoach of St Augustine, FL, Mia and Martin Revello of Tampa, FL; special sister, Dorothy Chauncey of Lake Park, sisters and brother-in-law, Marie and Calvin Gaston of Pinetta, FL, Louise Hughes of Lake Park; grandchildren, Tony Kinsey, Rebecca Kinsey, Trey Sandlin, Justin Sandlin, Melanie Sandlin, Bubba Sandlin all of Lake Park, Blake Revello and Ashton Revello of Tampa, FL; special friend, Myra Miller of Lake Park and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Brown.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Bethel Church of God with Reverend Richard Brookins and Reverend Marcus Zipperer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Pinetta, FL. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time in the church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
