Howard Holt

Howard Holt, 90, of Valdosta, died at his home on Friday, November 24, 2006. Born on June 17, 1916, in Pulaski County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William and Tannie Holt. Mr. Holt was a Bottler with Pepsi in Valdosta and Cordele for 40 years. He was Director and Past President of the Georgia Soft Drink Bottlers Association and was a Board Member for the Pepsi Bottlers Association. He was a Rotarian for over sixty years, and a member of the Valdosta Rotary Club for more than 50 years. Mr. Holt was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was an avid sportsman and gardener.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Montague Holt of Valdosta, a sister, Evelyn Goodbread of Lake City, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Holt and a sister, Carolyn Whitlock.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home in Valdosta. Reverend Thomas Mason, Jr. will officiate. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Pulaski County.
