Hilda Hughes Lynn

Hilda Hughes Lynn, 97, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020. She was born in Echols County, GA on July 10, 1923 to the late Van Buren Hughes and Mary Hughes. She was a homemaker who loved working in her yards and gardening. She loved animals especially cats. Mrs. Lynn was a member of Lake Park Church of Christ.
Mrs. Lynn is survived by a special niece Donna Owen, of Lake Park; niece Mary Kay Herring Ellis, of Douglas; three nephews Thomas Edward Herring, of Lake Park, Albert Herring, of Hahira, and Louis Herring of Lake Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Lyman Lamar Hammond, and Charles William Lynn, three sisters Lielar Hughes, Erby Mae Herring, Jessie Lois Thornton, and two brothers Van Mirl Hughes, and Walter “Pete” Hughes.
A funeral service for Mrs. Lynn will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Lake Park Church of Christ with Mr. Marvin Greene and Mr. Terry Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 am.
