Helen Irene Cole Hancock, 90, of Valdosta died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Binghamton, New York on March 17, 1924 to the late Tracy V. and Wanda Keeney Cole and had lived most of her life in Binghamton, New York before moving to Valdosta twenty one years ago. Mrs. Hancock loved the Lord, her family, and had a special place in her heart for Israel. She was a member of Grace Bible Church.
Survivors include her sons and daughter in law, Richard and Susan Hancock of Utica, MS, Donald Hancock of Valdosta, her daughter and son in law, Wanda and Gary Colyer of Valdosta, grandchildren, Christian Hancock, Miriam Hancock, Abraham Hancock, Susanna (Nick) Farfsing, Aaron Hancock, Paul Hancock, Amy Hancock, Pamela Hancock, Lisa Colyer Hall (Jonathan), Jeremy (Hilary) Colyer, Laurie (Bon) Charusorn, Lindsey Colyer Lunn (Charles), her great grandchildren, Josiah Hancock, Annie Elizabeth Garcia, Shane Russell, Jr., Eve Hall, Josiah Hall, Allie Hall, Jocie Hall, Rose Colyer and Charley Jayne Lunn; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Stephen Hancock, her son, Lester Hancock; grandson, Josiah Hancock and two brothers and sisters in law, Keith and Marilyn Cole and Gerald and Evelyn Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm, Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Stephen officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-7pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1pm, Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Chenango Valley Cemetery in Binghamton, New York.
