Grace Layton Scarborough

Grace Layton Scarborough, 80, of Hahira, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She was born in Ocilla, Georgia on April 19, 1939 to the late William Thomas, Sr. and Effie Kirkland Layton and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Scarborough was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a retired nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Brian Alley of Hahira; three sons and two daughters in law, Keith and Deny Scarborough, Kevin Scarborough all of Hahira, Cary and Debbie Scarborough of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Chad Cowart of West Point, VA, Torie and Jess Permenter of Adel, Brandon and Gretchen Cowart of Hahira, Keri Ann and Jace Bates of Hahira, Lindsey and Ricky Holstein of Boston, MA, Sadee Lynn Scarborough, Trevor Scarborough, Dylan Scarborough all of Valdosta, Christopher Scarborough, Victoria Scarborough all of Hahira; 12-great grandchildren, her sister and brother in law, Judy and Robert Ledet of Warm Springs, GA; sister in law, Sarah Layton of Lithia Springs, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Larry Scarborough, a son in law, Ken Cowart, a sister, Cheryl Layton and four brothers, Tom Layton, Jr., Paul Layton, Arthur Layton, Billy Layton.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Elder Dwight Marshall and Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating.
