Glennett Simpson, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Naylor, Georgia on September 28, 1946 to the late Dallas David Cook, Sr. and Mary Ellen Monk. Mrs. Simpson was a devoted mother to her children, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Simpson enjoyed fishing and watching dirt track racing with her family. In earlier days she enjoyed working with her flowers and in her yard. Mrs. Simpson was especially hurt by being separated from her family in the nursing home by the COVID quarantine, but she did enjoy activities with others at Holly Hill like playing cards.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Radney, and Linda Maine, both of Valdosta; her son and daughter in law, David and Deborah Maine, of Valdosta; her daughter in law Debbie Maine, of Valdosta; the father of her children, Harry Maine, Sr., of Valdosta; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; a sister and brother in law, Sarah and Bill Davis, of Lakeland, GA; and a brother, Tim Cook, of Lake City, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Maine, a daughter, Mary Maine, a sister, Ruby Stone, and a brother Dallas David Cook, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Carter Cemetery with Bishop Donnie Radney officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed on the obituary page at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
