George Johnson

George Johnson, 83, of Melbourne, Florida died on Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 12, 1927 to the late William Edgar and Eva Huchins Johnson and has lived in Melbourne since 1960. He worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company for 37 years as an engineer and was a member of Central Baptist Church of Melbourne as well as the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jackelon Johnson of Melbourne; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and John Pritchard of Lake Worth, Florida; a granddaughter and her husband, Wendy and Chris Henry of Gainesville, Georgia.

A graveside service for George Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Morrison Baptist Church Cemetery in Barney, Georgia with Rev. Aaron Thurber officiating.
