Gene (George) Peacock, Jr.

Gene (George) Peacock, Jr., of Quitman, passed away on July 6, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 22, 1963 in Valdosta to the late Gene Peacock Sr., and Martha Peacock McMillan. George was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and the Co-owner of Peacock Paints. George's favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, traveling and being outdoors. He enjoyed fixing things, tinkering and helping others. George loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.
George is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Beth Lawlor Peacock; his son Tyler Eugene Peacock; daughter and son-in-law LeAnna and Chip Pledger; his son and daughter-in-law Jack and Shea Wynn; his son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Ike Register; his grandchildren Adleigh, Liam, Jack Thomas, and Aubrey;his stepfather, Wayne McMillan; his sister and brother-in-law Lynn and Carlton Patrick; his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Renee Peacock; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his sister Sue Peacock.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Klay Luke will officiate. Burial will follow in Dasher Cemetery.
