Fronia Giddens

Fronia Giddens, 97 of Morven, died on Monday, January 2, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born on April 9, 1908 in Brooks County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Nora Barton Edmondson and widow of George Giddens. Mrs. Giddens was a homemaker and a member of Morven United Methodist Church.

Surviving are six daughters and 3 sons-in-laws, Virgina Giddens of Morven, Drucilla and Fred Stowers of Dawsonville, Sarah Simpson of Morven, Sally and Al Davis of Fort Worth, TX, Shirley and Bill Colomb of Covington, LA, Kay Hodge of Albany; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Edmondson, a sister, Sarah Edmondson and a great grandson, Noah Stowers.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Campground Cemetery at Morven with Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O. Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
