(Frankie) Jean Howell

(Frankie) Jean Howell, 85, of Lake Park, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 11, 1931 in Echols County to the late, Joe Sandlin, Sr. and Cuba Carter Sandlin. She was a homemaker, member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, co-owner and operator of Deerwood Grocery for many years.
She loved her family, her church family, cooking and helping others. She never forgot anyone's birthday or a holiday sending special little gifts to each grandbaby and her children.
Mrs. Howell is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenny (Jill) Howell, of Valdosta; Kevin Howell, of Lake Park; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa (Robert) Moore of Lake Park; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Butler, Blake (Susan) Howell, Brittany (Raphael) Smith, and Morgan Moore, seven great-grandchildren, Jackson, Prebble, Sam, Lola, Bella, Ian and Owen, and several nieces and nephews, a special thanks to her niece Janice Duff for many years of devotion and friendship. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her husband, Herschel Howell, brothers and sisters, Joe Sandlin Jr., Talmage Sandlin, Lavon Sandlin, Jessie Mae Corbett and Merle Hutto.

Funeral services for Mrs. Howell will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane funeral home with Mr. Larry Moncrief officiating, burial will follow in Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends Friday evening during the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
