Fannie Pearl Wisenbaker Dasher

May 12, 1913 — January 9, 2018

Fannie Pearl Wisenbaker Dasher, age 104, passed peacefully away in home, as she wished, on January 9, 2018. She was born May 12, 1913 in a farmhouse on Hickory Grove Road in Lowndes County. Her parents were Richard Byrd Wisenbaker and Sarah Eva Black Wisenbaker. She was the second of their seven children. She married Donovan Oscar Dasher on July 1, 1935, and they became the parents of four children. Except for one year as a college student in Morrilton, AR, she lived in Lowndes County all her life. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and a master’s degree in Education from Mercer University and taught in the public schools of Valdosta and Lowndes County. She was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ from 1943 until her death. Her Christian faith was of primary importance to her, followed closely by her family. She loved books, nature, flowers, traveling to visit her family, and, in her later years, especially her cats. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Home Instead Senior Care for seven years of reliable and compassionate service which made it possible for her to continue living in her own home until the end of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Vance (Mary Ellen) Wisenbaker of Tallahassee; and four sisters, Ruth (Vic) Dasher of Valdosta, Sue (Ben) Mercer of Madison, FL, Grace (George) Moulton of Valdosta, and Reba (M.J.) Paine of Valdosta. She is survived by one brother, Paul (Mary) Wisenbaker of Lake Park and her four children, Francis (Gay) Dasher of Albany, GA, Myra (Homer) Anderson of Valdosta, Steve (Sally) Dasher of Fairfax, VA, and Richard (Asami) Dasher of San Francisco, CA. She had eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. Funeral services will be in Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, GA at eleven o’clock on the January 12, 2018. Friends may greet the family one hour before the service.
