Evelyn Olline Coombs, 89, passed away, Friday, July 28, 2023, at her home.

She was born on September 10, 1933 in Lowndes County, Georgia to Ernest and Lillie Ring. She moved with her family at a very early age to Valdosta, Georgia, where she resided for the rest of her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of almost 59 years, Marion Coombs, her baby sister, Nadine Ring, brother, James Ring, sister, Erma McDonald, sister, Juanita Arnold, and many special in-laws and cousins.

She was known by her family as Olline and her friends as Evelyn; her nieces and nephews as Aunt Olline, Aunt Evelyn, and Aunt Nini. She was also known by many others not related to her in the Valdosta area as Aunt Nini.

Family and friends knew her door was always open and she always greeted everyone with a smile and a "come on in". She had a close relationship with her family. As a loving daughter, sister, cousin, and aunt, she nurtured her family with immeasurable affection and care. Her devotion knew no bounds. Her selflessness was unwavering.

She was an incredibly special aunt to Barbara Herring, Randy (Pam) Arnold, Craig Arnold, Darlene (Jim) Barrow, Royce (Lou Jean) McDonald, Wayne (Sharon) McDonald, Brent McDonald, Linda Osteen, Patti (Terry) Redding, Tim (Linda) Coombs, Mike (Pam) Coombs, Leslie, Larry, Gene, and Peter Coombs.

She was a tremendously special grandmother-aunt to Gina Kelley (Cleon), Jessica Herring, Marc Herring, Shawn Roffe, Kira Roffe, Cathrin Kelley, Sophia Torres, Mhia Torres, and Angel Herring.

She will greatly be missed by her family and friends; especially by her friends Phyllis Garnett, George (Rachel) Garnett, Fred (Donna) Roberson and her cousins Myra (Bill) Mashburn and Melvin (Nancy) Ervin.

Visitation will be held at 2-3pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N Patterson Street, Valdosta, Georgia. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m.
