Evelyn Frances Lindsey

December 22, 1917 — December 30, 2004

Evelyn Lindsey, 87, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, December 31, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born in Lowndes County to the late Reuben Benjamin Harnage & Sudie Ellen Reaves Harnage, she had been a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Lindsey had attended Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Glenn & Violet McCranie of Grandy, NC, and Tommy & Deanna Lindsey of Spring Hill, FL; three daughters and sons in law, Mary & Fred Blanton, of Lake Park, Sarah & Bill Mizell, of Valdosta and Sue & Logan Henderson of Valdosta; a sister, Sena Coker of Thomaston, GA and a brother and sister in law, Earl & Margie Harnage of Cecil. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her second husband, Malcolm Lindsey, her first husband, Randolph McCranie three sisters, and two great grandchildren, Taylor Lane Lewis, and Kimberly Leighann Lewis.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2005, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Rev. Henry Cannington will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon before the service from 3 until 3:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O.
