Euna Hoye Love

Euna Hoye Love, 97, departed to be with her Lord on Monday, April 19, 2021. Born October 21, 1923, in Valdosta, Georgia, she was the daughter of Karl and Euna Roberts Hoye. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister - Shirley Hoye Martin, and former husband, Roderick M. Love, Jr. She is survived by her children, Euna L. Bunch and husband, Tillman; Zoe L. Miakisz and her husband, John; her son, Roderick M. Love lll and wife, Louise; and her daughter, Lucy Latella; her 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She grew up in Valdosta, Georgia, and attended some college in Lynchburg, Virginia where she met her husband, Rod, before he went overseas to serve in World War II. On his return, they married and lived in Durham, NC, Valdosta, GA, St. Petersburg, FL and then settled in Columbia, SC.
She spent time between her home in Columbia, SC, beach condo in Cherry Grove, SC, and spending winters in Florida. Her health issues eventually kept her at her home in Palmetto, FL, where she lived with her daughter, Lucy. They were the best of friends. When together, the room was filled with lots of laughter. She loved to play cards almost every day right up until she began to lose her eye sight. She had an amazing memory and was a terrific story teller. She loved to sing and whistle - which was a warbling style, especially while in the kitchen cooking. She was a wonderful mother and friend and a joy to be around. We will miss her.
