February 25, 1934 — July 26, 2020

Ellie Candelario, 86, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, July 26, 2020 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Vincent Corona and Faustina Pizarro Corona, she had lived in this area for the past 6 years. Growing up in Brooklyn, Ellie graduated from Prospect Heights High School. Soon after high school she got married and stayed home for many years caring for and raising her children. Later on, she worked as a receptionist for the New York City Housing Development Corporation. She lived for most of her life in Brooklyn with brief times in Indianapolis, Puerto Rico and New Jersey. A two-time survivor of cancer, she was always upbeat and positive.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Peter & Beth Candelario of Valdosta, a son Robert Candelario of Niagara Falls, NY; six grandchildren, Johnathan Candelario of Anchorage, AK, Peter Candelario, III of Winter Park, FL, Kasey Candelario of Alexandria, VA, James (& Christy) of Sea Side, CA, Dian Candelario of Valdosta and Kayden Candelario of Martinsburg, WVA. She is preceded in death by her mother, a sister Ida Dumont and a daughter, Elisa Candelario.
