Elizabeth Ann Mclain

December 16, 1940 — April 29, 2021

Elizabeth Ann McLain, age 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed from this life peacefully Thursday morning, April 29, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. Ann was born December 16, 1940 in Cook County to Mr. Charlie Dorsett and Mrs. Myrtle Dorsett of Sparks, Georgia. Her fiery spirit along with her determination became hallmarks of her attitude as she grew into adulthood. She used that determination to make a career for herself in the accounting department of District Mental Health, from which she retired years later.
Ann was an active member of the Providence United Methodist Church. She lived her life according to her Christian beliefs. This was graphically demonstrated as Ann took on the gargantuan task of making a safe and loving home for five children, and with her new husband taught the children how to live and love life and each other. You see, Ann had already raised the two older children through high school...then that determined spirit took on a third child, age 12, a fourth child, age 9, and a fifth child, age 7. And, my goodness, How They Loved Her!! Ann was a very beautiful and lovely lady!
Ann loved to travel. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Travel Club of Lowndes County. Ann and her husband, Randall, fulfilled many dreams with that club. More importantly, they both formed a multitude of new friends. Her spirit was infectious.
Ann was preceded in death by both her parents. She is survived by her husband, Randall McLain; two sons, Todd Green and Marc McLain; three daughters, Chris Johnson, Anita (Darry) Howard, and Tricia (Steve) Edmondson; five grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Ken) Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
