Eleanor Roberts

Eleanor Roberts, 81, of Lake Park died after a short illness on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on February 12, 1926 in Chillicothe, OH, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Wyman Maughmer. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Joe L. Roberts of Lake Park; daughter, Barbara R. Mercer of Valdosta, sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Patricia Roberts of Naylor, Bruce and Elaine Roberts of Lake Park; grandchildren, John Roberts, Brian Roberts, Matt and Holle Roberts, Keith Mercer and his fiancé, Kelly Brooks, Keri and Graham Zipperer, Timmy and Krystal Hiers, Kevin and Tammy Hollis; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Pennington of Chillicothe, OH, Mary Jane Wells of Elkhart, IN and Kathryn Plummer of Chillicothe, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. A.M. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
