Edward George Wombolt

Edward George Wombolt, 83, died in Valdosta, Ga., on Dec. 23, 2014, at home surrounded by four generations of his family. Born Jan. 27, 1931, in Laurel, Mt., he retired from the U.S. Army with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife, Grace Wombolt, of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Bowers; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Elaine Wombolt; three sisters; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Amellia Wombolt Jr., his sister Betty Herman and his brother, Robert Wombolt. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
