Edna Mae Bennett

April 2, 1928 — January 13, 2013

Edna Mae Bennett was born in Racine, Wisconsin on April 2, 1928. She left to go home to her Lord and loved ones on January 13, 2013 following a short illness. She enriched the lives of so many people with her keen sense of humor and her joyous nature. Her family and friends will dearly miss her dazzling smile and her roar of laughter!

Edna married Bill Bennett on June 10, 2013 after they met in an Air Force hospital, where she served as a medic. Bill came in for medical care and always claimed that Edna "pinned him when he was down", but he's the one that captured an angel. They were married 46 years and had five children together.

Edna left the military and her medical career to be a devoted mom and wife for many years. In 1975, she resumed her love of medicine and graduated from nursing school with honors. Early in her career, she developed a passion for serving the elderly and pursued that love by starting her own home health business (Holly Hill Nursing Care) where she enriched the lives of many people. There was always a fun activity, whether it was bringing in a band or dressing in costumer!

Edna is survived by five loving children, Bill Bennett (Terri), Jr., Patricia A. Capistran, Mike Bennett (Carolyn), Jackie Kinsey, Jim Bennett and her "adopted daughter", Rose Mohamadin. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Michael Gordie, Krissy Sanders (Hiram), Celia Jo Faw (J.R.), Erica Bennett, Abbey Capistran, Michael Bennett Jr., and two great grandchildren, Rocky and Charlie Faw.

She was welcomed at Heaven's Gate by her parents Alice and Butch Bokoski, her husband William Bennett, Sr., her sister and brother Shirley and Buddy Jones, her grandson James Stewart Jr. and her son-in-law, Richard E. Moore.

Edna was a devoted servant of God, and was comforted through many trials by Jesus Christ, Our Lord. If one Bible verse could be named as her favorite, it would probably be "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. "That's how I roll!"

A memorial service for Edna Bennett will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Allred officiating.
