Earl Louis Sliney

Earl Louis Sliney, 84, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, Lakeland, following a short illness.

He was born July 26, 1927 in Taunton, Massachusetts, a son of the late Lewis and Helen Chase Sliney. Mr. Sliney a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, had resided in the Valdosta area for twenty-five years. He was a member of the Carpenters Union for sixty-seven years.

He is survived by two nieces, Elsie Masters of Upper Darby, PA, and Ruth Marker of Darby, PA. He was preceded in death by his wives, Eva Sliney and Lillian Sliney; and by a sister, Ruth.

The Funeral Mass of Mr. Sliney will be held at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Rev. Dan O'Connell. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
