Dr. Luther Wade Humphreys Jr., died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, January 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Luther, Sr., and Mary McNamara Humphreys. He was retired from the United States Navy and was a Professor of Finance at Valdosta State University. Dr. Humphreys was a pilot, and he enjoyed motorcycles and shooting.
Survivors are a sister, Dorothy Humphreys Ellen of Greenville, North Carolina; and nieces, Kathryn Ellen Styers of Gastonia, North Carolina, Elizabeth (Jon) Gordon of Atlanta.
A private entombment will be held at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
