Dorothy Wynette Strickland Cardwell

Dorothy Wynette Strickland Cardwell, 67, of Valdosta died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Pavo, Georgia on June 10, 1949 to Kathlean Strickland and the late L. Z. Strickland and had lived in Lowndes County for many years. Mrs. Cardwell was a member of Antioch Church and a retired tag agent supervisor with the Lowndes County Tag Office. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandson and just being at home working in her flowers. Mrs. Cardwell loved the times she spent with her mother and sister; shopping, eating lunch and enjoying each other's company.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Larry Cardwell; her daughter, Jeri Lynn Carter; her grandson, Kenny Cole Carter; her mother, Kathlean Strickland; her sister and brother in law, Barbara and Earl Lovett; her brothers, Lacy Strickland and Carlton Strickland all of Valdosta; her uncles, Tommy Hall, Randall Hall both of Cairo and Paul Hall of South Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, L. Z. Strickland.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mickey Corbett and Pastor Zack Corbett officiating. Burial will follow in the Enoch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, 3119 W. Marion Avenue, Lake Park, GA 31636.
