Dorothy Stalvey

Dorothy Dell Stalvey, 89, of Hahira died Friday, November 8, 2019 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Barney, Georgia on December 21, 1929 to the late Thomas Lloyd and Nannie Lou Alvis Dell and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Stalvey was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer for many years and was retired as bookkeeper from Hahira Feed and Seed Company. Mrs. Stalvey loved her grandsons, working in her yard, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Richard and Sharon Stalvey of Valdosta; two grandsons, Cam and Brandi Stalvey of Valdosta, Dr. Harrison Stalvey of Denver, CO; two sisters in law, Betty Dell of Albany, GA, Ellen Stalvey of Hahira; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur J. Stalvey and two brothers, Ray Lloyd Dell and Neal Leslie Dell.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday, November 11, 2019 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Stalvey and Rev. Russ Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1pm until service time at the church.
