Dorothy Moore Keller

DOROTHY MOORE KELLER, 81, of Valdosta, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Berrien County in 1927, a daughter of the late Malcolm Joel Moore and Susan Hall Moore.

A resident of Valdosta since 1956, she was active in many community affairs: civic, club, school, cub and boy scouts, and her church, First United Methodist, where she was a member of the Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class and Circle 3. She was a life member of the Valdosta Junior Service League and a member of Readers Forum.

She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree.

Mrs. Keller is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Keller and Joann of Dawsonville, Scott Keller and Lynn of Rochester, MN, three granddaughters, Jennifer Vaz and husband Ron of N. Augusta, SC, Kathryn Blackmon and husband Barry of Statham, and Grey Keller of Decatur, four great-grandchildren, Samantha Lynn Blackmon and William Nathan Blackmon of Statham, and Simon Alexander Vaz and Jackson Charles Vaz of N. Augusta, SC, a sister, Jozette Morgan, and a brother, Malcolm Eugene Moore, both of Nashville.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Hall Keller, Jr., a son, Richard Wyck Keller, and her mother Edna Moore.

At her request, there will be no formal services. Friends are invited to visit the family at her residence, 101 Fairway Circle, on Saturday, August 2, 2008, from 2 to 4 pm. Please omit flowers.
