Don Carroll Stephens

Don C. Stephens, 55, of Hahira, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 6, 1954 in Hahira to the late Kennon Carroll and Fern Kent Stephens. Don was a self employeed carpenter and a member of the Baptist faith. He was strong willed and independent. Don loved small engine repair and was very mechanical. He loved fishing, woodworking and always did good for everyone.

Don is survived by four sons and three daughters in law, DeWayne and Julie Mathis of Adel, DeWayne and Shandle Stephens and Shannon and Casey Stephens of Pensacola, FL and Travis Stephens of Hahira, seven grandchildren, Austin and Kayla Mathis of Adel, Elijah, Clayton, Gabriel, Destiny and Christian Stephens of Pensacola, FL, four sisters and three brothers in law, Jannette and Rickey Tabor of Hahira, Annette and Andy Tabor of Valdosta, Sue Norman of Sparks, Melba and Wendell Tabor of Valdosta, one brother and sister in law, Chris and Amber Stephens of Lake Park, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, a special uncle, Ronnie Stephens. He was loved by many friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at one p. m. at Friendship Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a. m. until 12:30 p. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family for funeral expenses.
