David J. Rowland

David J. Rowland, 83, of Valdosta died Monday, February 22, 2021 at his home. He was born on September 9, 1937 in Willacoochee to the late David Wesley and Bertha Taft Rowland and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mr. Rowland was an active member of Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, church family, being with people and hunting. Mr. Rowland retired from Chemical Specialties after thirty years of service.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Glenn and Julie Rowland of Hahira; his daughter and son in law, Becky and Jonathan Jense of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Anna Jense, Abigail Jense, Maisie Rowland, Levi Rowland; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mathis Rowland who died on January 14, 2021, three sisters, Irma Merritt, Geraldine Thigpen, Kathleen Rowe and two brothers, James Rowland and Gene Rowland.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Friday, February 26, 2021 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Gary Woods officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
