Clarence “Dutch” Wardwell, 75, of Clyattville died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. He was born on August 21, 1942 in Elmira, New York to the late Clarence Frederick Wardwell, Sr. and Alice Dayhart Wardwell. Mr. Wardwell was a Methodist and a retired police officer with the Elmira New York Police Department and a certified Glacier. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Wardwell loved working on old cars and doing carpentry.
Survivors include his wife, Ellie Anne Wardwell of Clyattville; his children and their spouses, Randy and Karen Wardwell of Clyattville, Cheri Jo and Darrel Fox of Clyattville, Donald (Donnie) and Lynn Wardwell of Ray City, Phillip and Gidget Wardwell of Lake Park, Kim Thomas of Lake Park, Roy and Jenny Hall of Fernindina Beach, FL, Melanie and Shannon Corbett of Cleo, OK; 14-grandchildren, 12-great grandchildren; his brother and sister in law, Richard and Emma Wardwell of Elmira, NY; brothers in law and sisters in law, Ted and Lee Martin of Perry, FL, Nancy and Danny Griffin of Clyattville, Suzanne Hall of Tennessee, Edward and Venus Martin of Lake Park. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Allen Wardwell and his mother in law, Eleanor Frances Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at McLane Lakewood Chapel with Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Copeland Cemetery.
