Chuck Jeron Smith

Chuck Jeron Smith, 44, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014.

Chuck was born November 3, 1969 in Hahira, a son of Herbert Dale and Faye McDonald Smith. He graduated from Lowndes High School and as a teenager was a Champion Go Kart racer.

He was a member of Lake Park Church of God, was very outgoing, loved family events and enjoyed picking on his nephew and niece, who he loved dearly. Chuck also loved fishing, NASCAR, animals, and football, especially Lowndes Vikings.

In addition to his parents, Herbert and Faye Smith of Valdosta, he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Judy Smith of Valdosta; a nephew, Brock Smith; a niece, Jaylee Smith; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Maude McDonald and Bill and Lillian Smith.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Sandlin and Rev. Ferrell Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery, Echols County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
