Christine (Chris) Lackey

Christine (Chris) Lackey, 95, of Valdosta died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at South GA Medical Center. She was born on April 25, 1921 in Meridian, MS to the late Frank and Helen Dalton Jeffares. Mrs. Lackey was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albany, GA and was very active there since 1964. She retired from the Dougherty County Family and Children Services in 1982 and was secretary and bookeeper for McKesson and Robbins Pharmaceutical Company.
Mrs. Lackey is survived by her two daughters and son in law, Sara and Haywood Moore of Valdosta, Marlene Lackey Martin of Greenville, SC, two grandchildren, Emily Ann Moore and William Patrick Moore, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patrick Henry Lackey, Jr., sister, Sara Jeffares and two brothers, Francis Jeffares and James Jeffares.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2016 from three until five p. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS.
